My Interview
Yino Santoro is the name of my favorite school teacher when I was a little girl, and then in high school. He was born in Curanilahue, on May 12th, the year is a mystery for everyone who knows him. He loves teaching and he advised me to follow this program…I`m so thankful about that. Nowadays he`s working at the same high school where I studied. Now it`s my sister ´ s turn to learn from him, and she wants to be a teacher of English, obviously.
Well, let’s know more about this great teacher… Mr Santoro this is my first question.
1.- For how long have you been teaching?
Yino: For almost 20 years. First, I started working as a primary school teacher and then I studied English.
Daisy : Why did you study English ?
Yino: Wow! It’s a great question...(he laughed) English is the most important language around the world , and the mixture with teaching is great! I think the word “teach” involves a lot of things, like patience, love, hard work ...ect. That’s why I am a teacher of English.
Daisy:Why did you advise me to study English?
Yino: Just because you had high grades, first in the school and then in the high school also. And teaching English is a good opportunity to find a job in our country.
Daisy: What is your life’s goal?
Yino:I hope to live in England because the real English is there. I would like to live there with my family for the rest of my life.
Daisy:.- Everybody comments about your age? Why?
Yino:I think it´s because I had been teaching for a lot of years and I look really young. Isn’t it?
Daisy:.- Would you like to become a University Teacher?
Yino:Sincerely no, I’m so happy working with kids and adolescents. I don’t like to work with adult people, they are too conflictive.
Daisy: Mr Santoro, you have classes now, I know your time is very short, so I ´m really thankful about your interview.
Yino: You’re welcome Daisy.
